How to display flash in your page headers

Most designs offer an advanced image selection interface which, apart from a static image will allow you to upload a flash header as well.

Some of the other designs - Cocoa, FutureTech, Charcoal, Pasta, Chromia, and Aurora - use a basic header image selection interface which does not have an option for uploading a flash animation. However, by using a simple HTML snippet you can still add your own flash visual as a header within these designs as well. Please follow these steps:

1. Prepare the .swf flash movie file for your page header area. The flash dimensions should be exactly the same as the dimensions of the page header area so it fits perfectly in it. To check the required dimensions rollover your page header area and click the blue  Edit icon on top left. Inside the Page Image popup displayed, choose Source: Custom Image from the dropdown and the recommended size will appear next to it.

2. Upload the flash file inside a File Area on your site and from File Properties copy the file Permanent URL.

3. In Admin view, go to the page where your page header should be displayed. Add an HTML Snippet at the top of the page content area and paste the following code into it:

<style type="text/css">#pageImageBar { background-image: none; }</style>
<script type="text/javascript">
var so = new SWFObject("paste_file_URL_here", "flashmovie", "100%", "100%", "7");
so.addParam("quality", "high");
so.addParam("wmode", "transparent");
so.addVariable("encoding", SK.Singletons.env.get('encoding'));
so.write("pageImageBar");
</script>

Replace paste_file_URL_here with the file Permanent URL (step 2).
